Well, around 700 kilometer on the road, that's how my day looked like.
As soon as we finished breakfast we went to Salzburg and walked a bit through the city. The last time I've been there was like 9 years ago for work. I still like the look of the city a lot.
After having some coffee we started our way home. First we had to drop off my parents after 450 kilometers and then go for another 250. Probably I would have taken more time to stay there, but there are some rumors about a huge storm called Sabine coming and after my flat tire I am not really up for a lot more suprises.
Both trips went very smooth and the small car didn't do a bad job, except the weird engine sound. It sounded like a scooter ...
Tomorrow we will go back to normal and more writing :)
Today started really good, except that we haven't had that much of a choice at breakfast as they didn't offer too much vegan stuff. But we are used to that and ready to adapt.
After finishing breakfast we headed towards the so-called panorama street which offered an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. It was really beatiful there. Also driving here is just a dream. There are a lot of curves, it goes up and down. I love it.
Here are some impressions from the panorama street.
We bought some groceries and went to the Windbeutelbaron, which means profiterole count, if transalted directly. Meant is a restaurant that really does good profiterole. Again nothing for me currently, I stick to the vegan challenge, but my parents liked it a lot.
And now the highlight, the Königssee (king's lake). We jumped on a boat there and drove to the other side, a little chapel that you may not from some pictures of Bavaria (if you even know Bavaria).
I cannot get enough of those mountains.
What a great day! Until then...
On the way back to the hotel I had a flat tire and my car got towed off. Getting a rental car was quite time consuming and a little bit of a pain in the ass.
BUT, if you wouldn't have a day like that sometimes, you wouldn't even notice how great all the other days in you life are. The grass on the other side always seems more green.
So, yes, it sucks, but I will get over it and have my car back next week or so.
A day full of driving. Today we started our trip to Berchtesgaden. It was almost 500 kilometers away and we needed about 5 hours, breaks excluded, to get there.
I really like to drive, but driving here is even better. Or generally being surrounded by mountains is somehow so calming. When you are seeing this enormous stones, it brings you down, it grounds me every time.
Being in the nature, driving through snowy areas, seeing the forests, it's so beautiful around here. (Will hopefully share some pictures tomorrow :))
We are here because of my fathers 60th birthday, so it's me, my girlfriend and my parents. As we are currently challenging ourselves in only eating vegan, it's quite hard to eat traditional food from this area. But I think we will get along with it.
Tomorrow we have some plans which I am really excited for.
Today is my fathers 60th birthday, so we packed our stuff and we will go for a little trip to Berchtesgaden and Salzburg over the weekend. I am sure there will be some good pictures to share.
Other than that today I recognized how my eating and drinking patterns have changed a lot. That what I ate this evening ususally would have been a snack and know I am really full.
It's good to feel so full and uncomfortable after it, so that I am again more willing to eat less and better gain.
Today I had planned to run again. And guess what, I did it! It again felt great.
A year or two back I couldn't have imagined that, running while having freezing 3 degrees celcius. But thorough continously building habit by habit I noticed how my body and mind changes.
