I just read this newsletter from my journaling app, Day One, it's mostly about gratitude. At the end of the newsletter there's this quote:
"It is not happiness that brings us gratitude, it is gratitude that brings us happiness." - Stephanie Simpson
On one hand, yes, totally agree, but's even less needed to be happy.
Happiness is a natural state, like a calm mind, it can be hidden, it can be clouded, but it cannot be taken away.
Of course, if you are focusing on the negative parts of your life, you are distracting yourself from hapiness. You are making your life harder for no reason.
